Abstract
The last two decades of the 20th century witnessed a growing differentiation and complexity
of the figures of childhood in Argentina. From then on we observe identities affected by
homogenization processes, that is, the uniformization of a global culture, and
heterogenization as a result of social inequality.In this scenario, some features of the
subjective type that constituted modern childhood still survive in everyday life, but others
have lost their meaning. Modern and postmodern notions circulate and coexist, affected by
family transformations, the loss of the place given to the school in modernity, the prevalence
of the market, technology and the media. Multiple transits, increasingly heterogeneous
discourses that hint at the need to move from childhood in the singular to the plurality of
childhoods.In this work we intend to explore in a general way some social representations of
childhood (s) of the time. With a view to this objective, we will include historical aspects and
then we will unravel problems, experiences and discourses that are producing new meanings
about our object of study and configuring subjective types in today's urban Argentina

Las últimas dos décadas del siglo XX fueron testigos de una creciente diferenciación y
complejización de las figuras de la infancia en Argentina. A partir de entonces observamos
identidades afectadas por procesos de homogeneización, es decir uniformización de una
cultura global, y de heterogeneización producto de la desigualdad social.En este escenario
algunos rasgos del tipo subjetivo que constituyó la infancia moderna aún perviven en la
cotidianeidad empero otros han perdido su sentido. Circulan y conviven nociones modernas
y posmodernas afectadas por las trasformaciones familiares, la pérdida del lugar otorgado en
la modernidad a la escuela, la prevalencia del mercado, la tecnología y los medios de
comunicación. Tránsitos múltiples, discursos cada vez más heterogéneos que dejan entrever
la necesariedad de pasar de la infancia en singular a la pluralidad de infancias.En este trabajo
nos proponemos explorar de modo general algunas representaciones sociales de infancia (s)
de la época. Con miras a este objetivo incluiremos aspectos históricos y luego desbrozaremos
problemáticas, experiencias y discursos que van produciendo nuevos sentidos sobre nuestro
objeto de estudio y configurando tipos subjetivos en la argentina urbana actual.
